Here's how to answer "Why Do You Want to Work Here?”
There are a lot of interview questions job applicants prepare for, but the obvious ones usually get the least attention. Well, you came prepared to share your biggest flaw, your greatest strength, a time when you shined, and a concept you learned, but what do you say when they ask you "Why do you want to work here?" You can use these sample answers as a guide to answer this common interview question. The author offers three strategies for answering this common interview question.
I recommend three basic approaches based on my 16 years of experience as a communications coach and my experience sitting on both sides of the interview table:
- Tell the employer why you are passionate about the company's product/service/mission.
- Please explain why you would enjoy the responsibilities of the position.
- Give examples of how you can succeed in the role, based on the experience and skills you possess.
Using any combination of these three approaches as long as you keep your answer concise will be effective. Here are some sample answers to help you out
